Abstract

A backlight device has a fixing member (FM) positioned between a light guide plate (120) and the lateral surface cover part (101) of a lower cover (100). The light guide plate (120) has a convex portion. The lower cover (100) surrounds the light guide plate (120) and the lateral surface cover part (101) has an opening (OPN). The fixing member has a first hook (HK1) which surrounds the convex portion and a second hook (HK2) which protrudes through the opening (OPN) of the lateral surface cover part (101).
