Abstract

An image forming apparatus, a method of stopping operation, and a program stored on a recording medium are provided. An image forming apparatus (1) includes an image processing mechanical unit (26b, 200b) that realizes an image processing function, an image processing driver (26a, 200a) that drives the image processing mechanical unit (26b, 200b) in accordance with operating status of the image forming apparatus (1), an operation reception unit (20d) that acquires information in accordance with user operation on an operational unit (17), a normally stop command unit (20a) that outputs a signal that commands to stop image processing operation to the image processing driver (26a, 200a) if the information acquired by the operation reception unit (20d) relates to normally stop operation, and a forcibly stop command unit (20b) that outputs a signal that commands to stop currently-executed image processing operation to the image processing mechanical unit (26b, 200b) if the information acquired by the operational reception unit (20d) relates to forcibly stop operation.
