Abstract
A wind turbine blade (2) for a wind turbine rotor (6) includes a suction surface (24) and a pressure surface (22) arranged opposite to each other. In a spanwise region (A) of the wind turbine blade (2) where a ratio of a radial position r of the wind turbine rotor to a radius R of the wind turbine rotor is not less than 0.1 and not more than 0.4, the wind turbine blade (2) includes an airfoil (30; 30') having a first dimensionless value y max /t max of not less than 0.36 and not more than 0.46 and a second dimensionless value y f /y max of not less than 0.62 and not more than 0.76. The first dimensionless value y max /t max is a ratio of a maximum upper (suction-side) thickness y max being a maximum value of a distance between a chord (26) and the suction surface (24) to a maximum blade thickness t max being a maximum value of a distance between the suction surface (24) and the pressure surface (22). The second dimensionless value y f /y max is a ratio of a upper (suction-side) thickness y f to the maximum upper (suction-side) thickness y max . The upper (suction-side) thickness y f is a distance between the chord (26) and the suction surface (24) at a position in the chord direction at a distance of 0.3 x max from a leading edge (18) when defining a position in the chord direction having the maximum upper (suction-side) thickness y max as being at a distance x max between the leading edge (18) and the position in the chord direction having the maximum upper (suction-side) thickness y max .
