Abstract
A system for measuring a tread profile of a tire comprises a plurality of laser distance measuring devices, an insulating wall enclosing the laser distance measuring devices, and a temperature controller for controlling the temperature of a gas surrounding the laser distance measuring devices in the insulating wall. By the use of the temperature controller, the temperature of the gas is kept within a narrow range so as to reduce variations of data output from the laser distance measuring devices due to variations of the temperature of the laser distance measuring devices.
