Abstract
The present invention proposes a synchronization strategy, specifically for spatially distributed clocks. These clocks are synchronized by networks of mutually coupled phase-locked loops. An important feature is the total time delay in the time-continuous coupling between phase-looked loops which enables synchronized states in the presence of a non-attractive coupling mechanism. Important applications are, e.g., high performance MPSoCs architectures, distributed antenna arrays, and other large scale electronic clocking systems communicating by means of time-continuous signals.
