Abstract

An image projector (1) includes a light source (21) to emit light, an image forming device (14) to form an image based on a reflected light of the light emitted from the light source (21), a color wheel (20) disposed between the light source (21) and the image forming device (14) so as to pass the light emitted from the light source (21) to the image forming device (14) through an optical path (R), the color wheel (20) including a plurality of color filters, at least one lens (15) to project the image formed on the image forming device (14) to a projection surface (S) as a projection image (P), and a processor (17) to move the color wheel (20) away from the optical path (R) for the light emitted from the light source (21), when a brightness of the projection image (P) is to be increased.
