Abstract

A power tool (10) with a motor (34) which is rotatable in a forward direction and a reverse direction. A tool holder (22) is driven by the motor (34). The power tool (10) has a user operable trigger (28) for operating the motor (34), a reversing switch (32) for choosing the direction of rotation of the motor (34) and a controller (120). The controller (120) determines a direction of rotation of the motor (34) based on a characteristic of the motor (34).
