Abstract

The invention relates to a connector for motor vehicles. By means of the invention it is possible to cause a pawl (8) and a device for detecting (3) the position of this pawl (8) to interact so as to block the displacement of this device for detecting (3) when it is displaced from its delivery position into its use position and when the pawl (8) protrudes due to incorrect positioning of a contact or a contact carrier module (4). To this end, the device for detecting (3) blocks the pawl (8), for example by said pawl being subjected to shear, in the position protruding between two surfaces of the device for detecting (3).
