Abstract

A variable-geometry ducted fan (200) may include an air duct (202) having a longitudinal axis, the air duct (202) including an inlet (206) of the variable-geometry ducted fan (200), a fan (204) rotatably mounted within the air duct (202) downstream from the inlet (206), the fan (204) including fan blades (232) defining a fan area, and a variable-area nozzle (236) coupled to the air duct (202) downstream from the fan (204), the variable-area nozzle (236) including an exhaust (248) of the variable-geometry ducted fan (200) having a variable exhaust area.
