Abstract
A medical implant (100, 400, 500) includes a body (102) and a porous structure (104) attached to the body. A boss (112) integral with the body extends outwardly from a surface (106) of the body. The porous structure has a surface (114) that cooperates with the boss of the body to prevent pullout of the body from the porous structure. In fabricating the medical implant, the body and the porous structure are formed separately and subsequently secured together.
