Abstract

To provide an image forming apparatus (100) and a control program capable of stably removing carriers on a photoreceptor even in a case where the distance between the photoreceptor and a carrier collector (135) changes. An image forming apparatus (100) includes a photoreceptor drum (131), a developer (134), a transferor (160), a carrier collector (135), a carrier detector (136), and a controller (190). The developer (134) forms a toner image on the photoreceptor drum (131) using a two-component developing agent including toner and a carrier. The carrier collector (135) applies an electric field corresponding to a collecting bias to a carrier adhering to the photoreceptor drum (131) to collect the carrier by a force of the electric field. The carrier detector (136) detects a carrier remaining on the photoreceptor drum (131) after collecting the carrier by the carrier collector (135). The controller (190) has a carrier adhesion detecting mode, forcibly causes a carrier to adhere to the photoreceptor drum (131), and sets the collecting bias on the basis of the amount of carriers remaining on the photoreceptor drum (131) after collecting the carrier.
