Abstract

A drive unit (10, 65) for a hybrid vehiclewherein a prime mover includes the engine (11), a first motor (12), and a second motor (13), andwherein a drive torque generated by the prime mover is delivered to an output element (30) connected to drive wheels (53), comprising a first differential mechanism (14) that includes a first rotary element (25) connected to the engine (11), a second rotary element (26), and a third rotary element (27); a second differential mechanism (15) that includes a fourth rotary element (28) connected to the second rotary element (26), a fifth rotary element (29) connected to the first motor (12), and a sixth rotary element (30) connected to the second motor (13) and the output element (30); a first engagement device (CL1) that connects any two of the first rotary element (25), the second rotary element (26), and the third rotary element (27) when engaged; a second engagement device (CL2) that connects the third rotary element (27) to any one of the fifth rotary element (29) and the sixth rotary element (30) when engaged; and a third engagement device (BK) that connects the first rotary element (25) and a predetermined stationary member (32) when engaged.
