Abstract

Optical transceiver comprising an optical transmitter having an optical modulator for modulating an optical carrier signal, a coherent optical receiver for demodulating data from a received data-modulated optical signal, and a laser source being connected to provide, at a first frequency, the optical carrier signal and an optical local oscillator signal, the coherent optical receiver being configured to demodulate data from said received data-modulated optical signal at a second carrier frequency, the second carrier frequency being shifted from said first frequency by a first frequency shift.
