Abstract

Embodiments of the invention may include an augmented reality device (100) to augment a video display (110) of a sign (120) using context of a device user, the device (100) comprising: a light capture component (130) to capture video stream information of a scene including light reflected from the sign (120), the reflected light being emitted from an identifying lamp (140) which embeds information; a processor (150) to: identify if the captured video stream information includes the embedded information and when the embedded information is included, to extract the embedded information; process the extracted information and use a user context to produce contextual signage information; and to generate in real-time images of the scene with an augmented part of the images including replacement signage determined by the contextual signage information in place of signage on the sign (120); a video display (110) to display the real-time images of the scene.
