Abstract

A receiver system and method are provided comprising: a first broadcast input configured to receive a first broadcast data signal carrying first content; a first storage input configured to be coupled to a first storage source; an output configured to provide an output signal comprising the first content; and a processor configured to be coupled to the first broadcast and first storage inputs and provide the first content to the output; wherein the processor is further configured to: identify the first content in the first broadcast data signal; search the first storage source for the first content; and selectively provide the first content to the output from one of the first broadcast signal and the first storage source in dependence on a reception quality of the first broadcast signal.
