Abstract

A sealing system for a rotary machine (100) is provided. The sealing system includes a pair of circumferentially adjacent rotary components (201). Each of the rotary components (201) includes a platform (224), a shank (226), and a radial seal (205). The shank (226) extends radially inwardly from the platform (224) and includes a radially extending first side channel (316) and an opposite radially extending second side channel (318). The radial seal (205) includes a first leg (422) received in the first side channel (316) of a first of the pair of rotary components (201), a second leg (424) received in the second side channel (318) of a second of the pair of rotary components (201), and a resiliently deformable body (426) extending therebetween, the body (426) including a U-shaped portion (425) located generally centrally between the first leg (422) and the second leg (424).
