Abstract
The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. To secure the expandable fusion device when it is in an expanded position, the present invention includes a locking mechanism that substantially prevents rotation of the actuating device, such as the drive screw. This locking mechanism comprises a set of locking rings with protuberances selectively engaging with said actuating drive screw and housing.
