Abstract
A centralized scheduler (3) for assigning communication slots in a data stream to a plurality of end nodes (1) in a communication network. The centralized scheduler (3) comprises a processing unit adapted for creating a synchronization message upon reception of a request from an end node (1). The synchronization message comprises a space efficient data structure which contains information to calculate or reconstruct slot assignments in the data stream during which the end node (1) may exchange data.
