Abstract

A vehicular lamp includes: a light source (1) configured to emit light that travels in an optical path; a liquid crystal element (5) disposed on the optical path of light emitted from the light source (1), and including a liquid crystal layer and a pair of sandwiching substrates (11, 12) configured to sandwich the liquid crystal layer; and a projection optical system (7) disposed on the optical path of light having been transmitted through the liquid crystal element. In the vehicular lamp, one of the pair of sandwiching substrates (11, 12) in the liquid crystal element includes a first transparent substrate (11), and a common electrode (13) disposed on the first transparent substrate, and the other of the pair of sandwiching substrates (11, 12) in the liquid crystal element (5) includes a second transparent substrate (12), a plurality of wiring electrodes (16) disposed on the second transparent substrate (12), an insulating layer (17) disposed on the second transparent electrode (12) to cover the plurality of wiring electrodes (16), a plurality of segment electrodes (14) disposed on the insulating layer (17), and a plurality of connection electrodes (20a, 20b, 20c) configured to electrically connect each of the plurality of wiring electrodes (16) to each of the plurality of segment electrodes (14) while penetrating through the insulating layer (17).
