Abstract

This invention relates to a system for configuring a session option for a session of a user in a mobile telecommunications network. The system comprises: a service module for providing at least the user with a session option configuration service for configuring the session option; and a terminal for the user. The mobile telecommunications network is configured to forward to the service module, when the user is registered for the session option configuration service, registration messages from the user and session setup messages for the user. The service module is configured to identify, upon receipt of a registration message from the user and sent via the terminal, terminal information for the terminal and to detect, upon receipt of a session setup message for setting up a session for the user, the current configuration for the session for the session. The system is configured to, if it is determined that the current configuration of the session option is not the desired configuration and if, based on the identified terminal information for the terminal, it is determined that the terminal for the user is compatible with the desired configuration for the session option, modify the session setup message to configure the session option in the desired configuration.
