There is disclosed an inductor component for use in a circuit such as a switched-mode power converter of a power train of an electrically powered vehicle. In some aspects the inductor component comprises: a housing which comprises a base, at least one side wall extending from the base, and one or more cooling channels running within the at least one side wall, the one or more cooling channels being arranged for circulating a cooling fluid within the at least one sidewall so as to cool the inductor component during operation of the power converter; an inductor core disposed within the housing; and an inductor winding comprising a winding conductor wound onto the inductor core. In other aspects, a group of at least two coplanar and electrically in series inductor windings (130) is provided between each adjacent pair of at least three stacked cooling plates (110).

There is described an electric vehicle comprising: a motor for propelling the vehicle; a battery providing motive electrical power for the motor; and a powertrain coupling the motive electrical power from the battery to the motor, wherein the powertrain comprises a switched-mode voltage converter to convert voltage of at least a portion of the motive electrical power, the switched-mode voltage converter comprising at least a pair of transistors coupled to an inductor operating as a switched energy storage element for conversion of the voltage, and an overcurrent monitor configured to detect an overcurrent condition of at least one of the pair of transistors, the overcurrent monitor configured to compare an electrical measurement of at least one of the transistors to a threshold and generate a fault signal when the overcurrent monitor receives an indication that the at least one transistor is turned on and the electrical measurement exceeds the threshold.

The invention relates to methods for producing a linear deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) product. The method of the invention produces the linear DNA product in a single reaction volume (or single contiguous aqueous volume) comprising a double-stranded DNA molecule (e.g. an amplified DNA product), an endonuclease, a ligase and an adaptor molecule, wherein the endonuclease digests both i) the adaptor molecule and ii) the double-stranded DNA molecule. The invention also relates to linear DNA products produced by the methods described herein and uses thereof.

There is described here a computer-implemented method of controlling user access to a private mobile network. A user is associated with a mobile device that comprises a subscriber identity module (SIM) having a private international mobile subscriber identity (private IMSI). A directory service lists a user identity for the user. The computer-implemented method comprises sending a notification, from the directory service to a private mobile network security controller, that the private IMSI has been assigned to the user identity in the directory service, and then activating, by the private mobile network security controller, the SIM in the private mobile network so as to allow the user access to the private mobile network via the mobile device.

Disclosed is a syntactic-foam part comprising low-density spheres, at least one inner distribution media layer positioned within the low-density spheres at a predetermined height and defining an infusion interface, and a resin encapsulating the low-density spheres and the at least one inner distribution media layer. Disclosed herein is a system comprising a first apparatus and a second apparatus. The second elongated member of the second apparatus is coupled to the first elongated member of the first apparatus.

Method and system for providing secure communications, the method comprising a reader interrogating a device, the reader having a reader identifier. The device responding to the reader interrogation by sending a device identifier to the reader. The reader generating an output by providing the reader identifier and the device identifier to a first algorithm. The reader sending the output to a management server as a key request. The management server validating the key request by providing the output to a second algorithm to generate a second output indicating validation status. When the key request is successfully validated, the management server generating a key and a temporary identifier by: generating data associated with the output, applying a combination of the output and the generated data to the second algorithm to generate the key, and generate a temporary identifier associated with the key. The management server sending the key and the temporary identifier to the reader. The reader and the management server storing the key and the temporary identifier.

A system for automatically assigning tasks includes a plurality of sensors configured to monitor an operator and generate physiological data associated with the operator. The system also includes one or more processors configured to determine a cognitive state estimate for the operator based on the physiological data associated with the operator, identify a task list associated with a set of tasks assigned to the operator, and identify one or more user metrics associated with the operator. The one or more processors are also configured to, based on the cognitive state estimate, the task list, and the one or more user metrics, assign a task from a set of assignable tasks to the operator. The one or more processors are also configured to and send, to an interface device associated with the operator, a task assignment indicator that indicates the task is assigned to the operator.
