Abstract
A controller calculates the orientation of the controller based on an output from an inertial sensor, and when a value representing the calculated orientation satisfies a first condition, compresses data in a mode 2, and when the first condition is not satisfied, but a second condition is satisfied, compresses the data in a mode 1, and when the second condition is not satisfied, compresses the data in a mode 0. Then, the controller transmits the compressed data to another apparatus.
