Abstract

A shock absorber (S) includes: a cylinder (1a) accommodating a fluid; a piston (1b) that reciprocates with respect to the cylinder (1a) while partitioning an inside of the cylinder (1a) into a first fluid chamber (R1) and a second fluid chamber (R2); a pump (2) having a first port (P1) that communicates with either one of the first fluid chamber (R1) and the second fluid chamber (R2) and a second port (P2) that communicates with the other one of the first fluid chamber (R1) and the second fluid chamber (R2), and including a flow rate change portion that changes a circulation amount of the fluid circulating between the first port (P1) and the second port (P2); an electric rotor rotating in conjunction with the pump; and a stator forming a magnetic field between the electric rotor and the stator.
