Abstract

The present invention relates to a an anti-tamper device (11, 11') for a utility meter (1), in particular for an enclosure (2) thereof, providing a guideway (23, 23') for a sealing element (20), wherein in a sealed state (S) of the utility meter (1), at least a section of the sealing element (20) extends along the guideway (23, 23'). Furthermore, the present invention relates to an enclosure (2) for a utility meter (1) comprising a socket (12) configured for receiving an anti-tamper device (11, 11') according to the present invention, as well as to a utility meter (1) comprising an anti-tamper device (11, 11'), and/or an enclosure (2) according to the present invention. The present invention provides that the guideway (23, 23') is provided with a predetermined breaking zone (38, 38') configured to break when the sealing element (20) exerts a predefined breaking force (F<B>) onto the anti-tamper device (11, 11').
