Abstract

The invention relates to a rotor for an electric machine. The rotor comprises elastic pads with an arrangement of permanent magnets, receptions for the elastic pads and deformation means. The elastic pads are adapted to be deformed elastically and are arranged within the receptions, wherein the receptions are designed such that the elastic pads can deform within the receptions. The deformation means are adapted to deform the elastic pads, e.g., from a rectangular shape into a non-rectangular shape, such that at least one of a magnetic induction B, a swept conductor length L extending over the width of the elastic pads and the B center of gravity radius R is adjusted.
