Abstract
Apparatus and corresponding method for increasing the content of ergosterol-derived photoproducts in mushroom products 8, comprising of:a. a conveyor 9 capable of transporting the mushroom products 8;b. at least two UV light sources 3,4, whereini. the first light source 3 is capable of emitting light with a peak wavelength in the range of 250 nm and 320 nm so as to expose the transported mushroom products 8, andii. the second light source 4 is capable of emitting light with a peak wavelength in the range of 250 nm and 320 nm so as to expose the transported mushroom products 8;iii. the first light source 3 and the second light source 4 emitting light with a different peak wavelength.
