Abstract

The present invention relates to an expansion valve, in particular for a heating and/or cooling application, comprising a movable plug (1) and a valve seat (2), wherein the distance between the plug and the valve seat defines a valve opening. The variable valve opening defines and limits a fluid flow rate through the valve, thereby ensuring a desired pressure drop across the expansion valve.
