Abstract

A reading device (101) includes an illumination unit (2), an imaging unit (22), a background portion (13), and an image processor (20, 201). The illumination unit (2) irradiates visible light and invisible light to a subject. The imaging unit (22) receives the visible light and the invisible light, each of which is reflected from the subject, to capture a visible image and an invisible image. The background portion (13) is provided in an image capturing range of the imaging unit (22). The image processor (20, 201) detects a feature amount of the subject and the background portion (13) from at least one of the visible image and the invisible image.
