Abstract
A resonant converter (30) supplies a load. The resonant converter (30) comprises a primary converter side (31), comprising a converter switching circuit, a secondary converter side (32), and a controller (33). The controller (33) is configured to operate the converter switching circuit using pulse width modulation, for regulating a power transfer from the primary converter side (31) to the secondary converter side (32). The resonant converter (30) comprises an overshoot protection circuit (34) connected to the primary converter side (31) and/or to the controller (33). The overshoot protection circuit (34) is configured to, and as switch-off event, effectively stop a power transfer from the primary converter side (31) to the secondary converter side (32) at the end of a pulse width modulation pulse.
