Abstract
The present invention relates to an electric motor (1) provided with liquid cooling means to avoid overheating. The electric motor (1) comprises a frame (5) that develops along a longitudinal axis (500), a first endshield (10) and a second endshield (20) connected at opposite ends (51,52) of said frame (5). The electric motor also comprises a stator assembly (2) and a rotor assembly (30), wherein said stator assembly (2) is arranged, at least partially, in a longitudinal cavity (5A) of said frame (5) and wherein said rotor assembly (30) is arranged, at least partially, in a longitudinal space defined by said stator assembly (2) and supported, at opposite ends, by said endshields (10, 20) so as to rotate about said longitudinal axis (500). The electric motor (1) further comprises liquid cooling means to dissipate the heat generated during the operation of said electric motor (1). The cooling means comprise a plurality of circulation channels (101-101', 102-102', 103-103', 104-104') defined through said frame (5) for the circulation of a cooling fluid, and at least one hydraulic connecting channel (91,91,91) for connecting hydraulically two of said circulation channels (101-101', 102-102', 103-103', 104-104') at one of said endshields (10,20). According to the invention, at least one hydraulic connecting channel (91,91,91) comprises at least a first section (81,81,81) configured by the coupling of a collector element (61',61") with a seat (71', 71") defined by said one of said endshields (10, 20).
