Abstract

A system (200) and method (300) for presenting laboratory data to a laboratory user (100) are presented. The system (200) comprises a perception component (210) configured to continuously gather in-situ context data regarding a laboratory and the laboratory user (100), a user modeling component (220) configured to receive the in-situ context data from the perception component (210) to create a user specific model for each user in the laboratory, a laboratory device awareness component (230) configured to monitor the status, performance, alarms, and/or maintenance of the laboratory devices within the laboratory, a notification component (240) configured to receive the in-situ context data from the perception component (210) and the laboratory device status data from the laboratory device awareness component (230) and to process and determine which of these data from the in-situ context data and the laboratory device status data are to be presented to the laboratory user (100), and a presentation component (250) configured to present the processed data from the notification component (240), wherein the presented data comprises both public and private notification of the data to the laboratory user (100).
