Abstract

A seat rail system for a vehicle. The seat rail system comprises an upper rail and a stationary lower rail attached to a floor structure of the vehicle. The upper rail is configured for being attached to a vehicle seat and the upper rail is movably arranged in relation to the lower rail in a longitudinal vehicle direction. The upper rail comprises a first side section and a second side section. A cavity is formed between the first side section and the second side section in a lower portion. The lower rail comprises a first lateral side element arranged in connection to and in an overlapping relationship to the first side section, and a second lateral side element arranged in connection to and in an overlapping relationship to the second side section. The seat rail system further comprises an elongated load member attached to the lower rail, where an upper part of the load member is extending into the cavity. One or more lower parts of the load member are connected to the floor structure. The first lateral side element is configured for blocking lateral movement of the first side section and the second lateral side element is configured for blocking lateral movement of the second side section upon deformation of the upper rail in a vehicle impact event.
