Abstract

A motion mechanism (200) for a chair (100) is configured to effect a coordinated movement of a chair seat (101) and chair back (102) of the chair (100). The motion mechanism (200) comprises a mechanism (201) configured to support the chair seat (101) and to couple the chair seat (101) to a chair base assembly (150), a first back support (211) configured to couple the chair back (102) to the mechanism (201), and a second back support (221) configured to couple the chair back (102) to the mechanism (201). A first end (212) of the first back support (211) is coupled via a first rotary connection (214) to the mechanism (201). A second end (213) of the first back support (211) is configured for coupling to the chair back (102). A first end (222) of the second back support (221) is coupled via a second rotary connection (224) to the mechanism (201). A second end (223) of the second back support (221) is configured for coupling to the chair back (102). An axis of rotation of the first rotary connection (214) extends in a front-rear direction (104) of the chair (100) and an axis of rotation of the second rotary connection (224) extends in the front-rear direction (104).
