Abstract

The present invention is directed to a setting system and a setting device (12) for setting fasteners (18) in openings in a vehicle body component comprising a magazine unit (20) adapted to receive and store a plurality of fasteners (18). A setting head (26) is provided with a punch (48) operately configured to drive a fastener from a pre-mounted position to a mounted position. A gripper (50) is adapted to retain and guide the fastener, the gripper (50) being movable from the magazine unit (20) to an end position in which the fastener can be set. A first pneumatic linear actuator controls the punch (48), and the magazine unit (20) is connected to a second linear pneumatic actuator (62) such that the magazine unit (20) can move along a feeding axis (Xf), and wherein the feeding axis is perpendicular to the setting axis (Xs).
