Abstract

A rotator driver (9) includes an endless rotator (21; 61; 61A; 71; 72) and an end face contact member (29A; 29B) that contacts an end face (21a) of the endless rotator (21; 61; 61A; 71; 72) in a longitudinal direction thereof. A helical gear (41) is mounted on an opposite face (29A2) of the end face contact member (29A; 29B), which is opposite to an end face opposed face (29A1) contacting the end face (21a) of the endless rotator (21; 61; 61A; 71; 72). The helical gear (41) has teeth (41a) being oriented to generate a force that moves the end face contact member (29A; 29B) toward the end face (21a) of the endless rotator (21; 61; 61A; 71; 72) as the helical gear (41) rotates. The helical gear (41) has an outer diameter being not greater than an outer diameter of the endless rotator (21; 61; 61A; 71; 72).
