Abstract
The invention relates to a tamping device (1) for compressing coffee powder (12), a compressing element (3) and a method for compressing coffee powder (12), wherein the tamping device (1) comprises a main body (2) and a compressing element (3), wherein the compressing element (3) is formed by the main body (2) or attached to the main body (2), wherein the compressing element (3) forms or comprises at least a part of a contact surface (4) for contacting the coffee powder (12) during a compressing procedure, wherein at least a first portion (6a) of the contact surface (4) is deformable.
