Abstract

The present disclosure provides a mounting mat for mounting a pollution control element in a housing, comprising:(a) an inorganic fibrous mat having a first major surface and a second major surface;(b) at least one first organic surface additive comprised in the first major surface of the inorganic fibrous mat;(c) optionally, at least one second organic surface additive different from the at least one first organic coating comprised in the second major surface of the inorganic fibrous mat;wherein the first surface of the inorganic fibrous mat exhibits a lower friction coefficient than the second major surface.
