Abstract

Battery module and battery cell sub-assembly (12) comprising: - a first battery cell (16) and a second battery cell (18); - a first cartridge (12) surrounding the first battery cell (16), the first cartridge (12) comprising a top wall and two lateral walls extending between the top wall and the bottom wall, wherein the top wall and two lateral walls define the inside of the cartridge; - a second cartridge (20) surrounding the second battery cell (18), the second cartridge comprising a top wall and two lateral walls extending between the top wall and the bottom wall, wherein the top wall and two lateral walls define the inside of the cartridge; - at least one thermal fin (14, 22) contacting the first and/or the second battery cell (16, 18), wherein a rupture disk (46) is provided on a wall of the first and/or second cartridge (12, 20).
