Abstract
A process for the manufacture of a plasterboard, the process comprising: forming a calcium sulphate slurry by mixing water, calcium sulphate material, an aqueous foam comprising an aqueous surfactant composition comprising an alkyl sulphate, a coalescing agent, and a hydrophobic material; depositing the slurry to form a board precursor; and drying the board precursor to form a plasterboard. In this way, the coalescing agent can mitigate the effects of the hydrophobic material to produce a plasterboard with an improved foam efficiency.
