Abstract

Disclosed herein are additive manufacturing apparatuses (10) which include a print head (106) supported by a positioning system (22), the print head (106) including one or more delivery optics (150) contained within the print head (106); a laser beam source assembly (102) isolated from the positioning system (22), the laser beam source assembly (102) configured to generate at least one collimated laser beam (138); and a laser beam receiver assembly (17) isolated from the laser beam source assembly (102), the laser beam receiver assembly (17) configured to receive the at least one collimated laser beam (138) and direct the at least one collimated laser beam (131, 133) to the one or more delivery optics (150) of the print head (106).
