Abstract

A vehicle control apparatus 1 includes an electric power steering 2, a current-position acquisition unit 4 that acquires a current position of the vehicle in a traffic lane where the vehicle is currently traveling, and a targetposition control unit 6 that performs steering control of the electric power steering 2 in such a manner that the vehicle is caused to run from the current position to a target position and maintains a current traffic lane. By definitions that a first phase P1 is a predetermined period including a span immediately after reverse turning of steering is determined in the steering control and a second phase P2 is a period during which steering-turn is performed and does not overlap the first phase P1, weighting in followup control from the current position to the target position is larger in the first phase P1 than in the second phase P2.
