Abstract
A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions, that when executed by a computer processor (210), cause the computer processor (210) to perform obtain a model (102) defining a geometry of a component (103) for manufacturing using an additive manufacturing system (100), discretize the component (103) into a plurality of voxels (402), each voxel representing a volumetric portion of the component (103), identify voxels (402) of the plurality of voxels (402) having a value of stress greater than a threshold value, determine regions (404) of the component (103) contributing to the identified voxels (402) having the value of stress greater than the threshold value through a build process simulation configured to iteratively simulate modifications to voxels (402) of the component (103) so that the value of stress of the identified voxels (402) is reduced, modify the geometry of the regions (404) of the component (103), and store an updated model (102b) of the component (103) incorporating the modifications to the geometry.
