Abstract

The invention is directed to a head-up display having a display apparatus (1) with a picture generating unit (10) with a display panel (11) for displaying an image and a driver (12) for the display panel (11), an optical unit (14) for projecting the image onto a projection surface (2,20), an image generator (41) for generating an image (BD) to be displayed, a transmission channel (43) using a failsafe image data format, a timing controller (45), and a panel connection (47) for connecting the transmission channel (43) to the driver (12). It is suggested that an occlusion detector (16) is provided and that the occlusion detector (16) is arranged downstream the timing controller (45).
