Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method 300 of controlling a power converter 230, 240, 250. The power converter 230, 240, 250 comprises: input terminals 232, 234, 242, 244, 252, 254 configured to receive an input voltage; a plurality of input switches 651-656 configured as one or more half-bridges, each half bridge comprising a high-side input switch 651, 653, 655 and a low-side input switch 652, 654, 656; and a capacitor 630 couplable to the input terminals 232, 234, 242, 244, 252, 254 so as to receive the input voltage. The method 300 comprises: operating the power converter 230, 240, 250 in a discharging mode 330 which comprises closing a high-side input switch 651, 653, 655 and a low-side input switch 652, 654, 656 to complete a discharge circuit between first and second terminals of the capacitor 630. The present disclosure further relates to a power converter 230, 240, 250 comprising means 290 adapted to carry out such a method 300.
