Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle lighting system (100) comprising a display system (300) comprising at least one display (310-330), an interface (210) configured to receive sensor data related to a vehicle environment, and a control unit configured to control the display system, to receive the sensor data and to determine a free part of the display system not used for displaying information needed by any passenger of the vehicle, wherein the control unit is configured to determine a color for the free part of the display system based on the sensor data and to illuminate the free part with the determined color.
