Abstract
A switchable sensing platform for detecting an analyte, comprising:a transducer comprising a surface,a capture molecule, immobilized on said surface, and adapted for bonding with the analyte, anda molecular assembly, immobilized on said surface, comprising:a first molecular subunit immobilized on the transducer surface, and a second molecular subunit attached to the first molecular subunit, the second molecular subunit being releasable from the first molecular subunit upon application of a stimulus to the transducer, and comprising a moiety adapted so that, upon said release of the second molecular subunit, the ability of the switchable biosensing platform to detect the analyte is enhanced.
