Abstract

A battery module (100) for a battery pack (200) of a heavy electric vehicle is provided. The module includes a plurality of battery cells (110), wherein each battery cell includes a degassing valve (112) for releasing gas and/or particles from within the battery cell, and a plurality of venting tubes (120) including at least one venting tube for each battery cell, wherein the at least one venting tube for each battery cell is configured to provide an individual conduit for routing of gas and/or particles (114) from the degassing valve of the battery cell to outside of a boundary of the battery module, and e.g. outside (240) of the battery pack. The individual routing prevents gasses and/or particles from different battery cells to interact, thereby reducing the risk of thermal runaway spread. A corresponding battery pack, battery cell, heavy electric vehicle and energy storage system are also provided.
