Abstract

Provided is a pneumatic tire having improved noise performance by reducing pass-by noise. A pneumatic tire 1 includes a belt layer 7. The belt layer 7 is composed of two belt plies 7A, 7B. Each of the belt plies 7A, 7B includes a plurality of steel cords 12 and a topping rubber 13, and has a thickness TP of 0.65 to 0.85 (mm). Each steel cord 12 has a strength of 400 to 540 (N). The number of the steel cords 12 per width of 5 (cm) in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the steel cords 12 is 40 to 50.
