Abstract

A method for controlling resource instances is proposed, comprising the steps of: a) storing a declarative model (610) in a database (620), wherein the declarative model comprises a plurality of resource elements (100, 210-250, 311-352), each resource element representing a resource of a communication system, wherein each resource element is associated with a resource type, and wherein at least one resource element is modeled to provide a customer service (100, 710) consumable by a customer and the remaining resource elements are modeled to provide a service consumable by another resource element, b) controlling resource instances of a communication system by a set of controllers (640, 651, 652, 653) depending on the stored declarative model (610), wherein the set of controllers comprises - a type-specific controller (651, 652, 653) for each type of resource elements defined by the declarative model, wherein each type-specific controller is adapted to control resource instances of the respective associated resource type, and - a relationship controller (640) which is adapted to control service-related relationships between resource instances. Further, a system (600) for performing the method is proposed.
