Abstract

A method for examining a specimen (100) comprises the following steps: Cutting the specimen (100) into a series of specimen sections (102). Distributing the specimen sections (102) over multiple specimen carriers (200a, 200b, 200c, 602a, 602b, 602c, 702) to provide each specimen carrier with at least one of the specimen sections (102). Staining at least some of the specimen sections (102) distributed over the specimen carriers (200a, 200b, 200c, 602a, 602b, 602c, 702). Generating individual images (500) of the stained specimen sections (102) arranged on the specimen carriers (200a, 200b, 200c, 602a, 602b, 602c, 702). Combining the individual images (500) of the stained specimen sections (102) to an overall image (504) of the specimen (100).
